Assign, Set Up and Publish Timed Auctions
How to set up and publish a timed auction using the PC Console
This guide explains how to set up, assign and publish a listing for a Timed Auction via the PC Console.
Steps to Set Up, Assign and Publish a Timed Auction
Step 1: Log into the PC Console and navigate to your Auctions Live Dashboard.
Step 2: From the left-hand side menu, select All Upcoming.
Step 3: All imported listings will appear under the Unassigned tab as Unassigned & Draft.
Step 4: Locate the relevant listing and click the blue Edit icon on the right-hand side.
Step 5: Navigate to the Auction Type field and use the dropdown menu to select Timed.
Step 6: In the Published Status dropdown, change the status from Draft to Published. This will make the property visible on your office’s website via the Hosted Widget.
Step 7: Ensure Online Bidding Registration is open.
Step 8: Complete the form fields relating to the Auction Start and End Date & Time.
Step 9: Enter the Reserve Price and Starting Bid Amount. These amounts must be entered to enable the following features:
- Show Starting Bid Amount - Displays the starting bid amount to each online bidder
- Automatic On The Market - Marks the property as On The Market automatically when a bid is equal to or exceeds the reserve price
- Automatically Sell/Pass In - Automatically sells or passes in the listing at the closing time if the reserve is reached
Step 10: Complete the Timed Auction system settings as required:
- Show Starting Bid Amount - Enable to display the starting bid amount to online bidders
- Show No. of Bidders - Enable to display the total number of bidders to each online bidder
- Automatic On The Market - Enable to automatically mark the property as On The Market when a bid is equal to or exceeds the reserve price
- Online Bid Withdraw Requests - Enable to allow bidders to request bid withdrawals, which the auctioneer can accept or decline
- Automatically Start Online Bidding - Enable to start bidding automatically at the scheduled auction start time
- Automatically Stop Online Bidding - Enable to close bidding automatically at the scheduled auction end time
- Automatically Accept Online Bids - Enable to accept all online bids automatically
- Automatically Sell/Pass In - Enable to automatically sell or pass in the property at closing if the reserve is reached
Step 11: Once complete, click the green Update button at the top or bottom right corner of the screen to save changes and return to the Overview tab. Once saved, the property will be moved from the Unassigned tab to the Assigned tab under All Upcoming.
Top Tip
Once a Timed Auction is set up via the PC Console, it can be managed by the Auctioneer directly from their smartphone.
